James Suckling: 93-94/100

Jane Anson: 92/100
Grilled coffee beans, capuccino and mocha, combined with intense dark fruits and solid tannic architecture. Pretty old school, but it's well done, good quality and with a ton of personality. In organic conversion, 35% new oak for ageing. Owned by Jean-Claude Bolleau but farmed and vinified entirely by the Bernard family of Domaine de Chevalier.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Wine Independent: 90-92/100
The 2023 Lespault-Martillac Rouge is deep garnet-purple in color. Slightly closed notions of cedar chest and iron ore soon open out to a core of ripe plums and fresh blackcurrants plus a waft of bay leaf. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock full of bright, crunchy black fruits, framed by grainy tannins and nice tension, finishing long and savory. This is nicely done! The blend is 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 40% Merlot, and 5% Petit Verdot.

Antonio Galloni - Vinous: 89-91/100
