Château Tronquoy-Lalande is a distinguished wine estate located in the Saint-Estèphe appellation of Bordeaux, France. The estate spans 30 hectares of vineyard land, characterized by gravelly soils over clay and limestone subsoils, ideal for cultivating Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Petit Verdot.

Neil Martin - Vinous: 93-95/100
The 2023 Tronquoy-Lalande was picked September 6 to 26 and contains more Petit Verdot in the blend this year. It matured in one-third new oak plus some newly-introduced foudres and amphorae. Blackberry and bilberry fruit surface the nose, plus a fresh punnet of strawberries. This is quite delightful and full of character. The palate is underpinned by fine acidity. Fresh and quite marine-influenced, this has a silky texture on the finish that lingers in the mouth, representing another superb Tronquoy from a rejuvenated estate. Drink 2030-2055.

James Suckling: 93-94/100
A crunchy and velvety Tronquoy with blackberry, blackcurrant and chocolate aromas. Lots of blackcurrant, berry and cherry character on the medium-bodied palate, with solid tannins that have a powdery texture. 51% cabernet sauvignon, 38% merlot and 11% petit verdot.

Georgina Hindle - Decanter: 93/100
Quite aromatic and perfumed on the nose, smells fresh and lively. Vivid purple colour to the rim. Smooth and silky, really tart and highly acidic, brightness and acidity is completely at the fore here, straight and well defined. Not lean in the sense that there’s too much minerality or any greenness - it’s not rustic at all, just the acidity is so high and it does keep quite a straight profile from start to finish. I like its punchy taste, upfront and confident, accessible and still with some finesse on the finish. Tannins are very well integrated and the Petit Verdot and oak is well incorporated too. Drink 2027 - 2036.

James Suckling: 93-94/100
More freshness to this than 2022, showing dried-mango and lemon aromas, as well as some lemon curd. It’s medium-bodied with depth and intensity of fruit. Flavorful and rather characterful, but a hint of tension at the end holds it together tightly. 51% semillon and 49% sauvignon gris.

Jane Anson: 93/100
Fleshy nectarine, stone fruits, white flower, steady delivery of spice and acidity, reserved power power, grilled elderflower, enjoyable. Jean Bernard Delmas planted the white vines here in 2008, 5,000 bottles produced, first vintage 2011, even split of Sémillon and Sauvignon Gris which is unusual in the Medoc.

Lisa Perrotti-Brown - Wine Independent: 93-95/100
The 2023 Blanc de Tronquoy prances out with gregarious scents of juicy pears, yellow apples, and spice cake followed by hints of honeysuckle, mandarin peel, and chalk dust. The medium-bodied palate delivers bags of orchard fruit flavors, with well-knit acidity and finishing with spicy lift. This is nicely done! The blend is 51% Semillon and 49% Sauvignon Gris, with pH 3.04. Jean-Bernard Delmas planted this vineyard of just 2 hectares in 2008.

Georgina Hindle - Decanter: 93/100
Incredibly aromatic; honeysuckle, lemongrass, minerality, ripe peach and some bitter grapefruit. Great freshness and brightness here, lots of vivacity - some sharp, almost tart green apple countered by freshly cut pineapple with a touch of bitterness. Lovely lift and balance, ripe with a hint of sweetness but great mouth-filling texture and really elongated finish. On the high toned spectrum, acidity is at the fore with the almost bitter touches coming through strongly, but altogether really interesting and captivating. Keeps a direct frame, lean, and streamlined, not fat but there’s a touch of richness. Lemon and orange skin on the finish. Vinified and ageing only in barrels, 20% new oak for 12 months.

Antonio Galloni - Vinous: 90-92/100
The 2023 Blanc is quite rich and textured in this vintage. The blend is 51% Sémillon and 49% Sauvignon Gris, with the Sémillon very much driving the wine's textural feel. Lemon confit, marzipan, mint, dried flowers. spice and white pepper all build.

William Kelley - Wine Advocate: 90-92/100
The Tronquoy 2023 Blanc, a blend of 51% Sémillon and 49% Sauvignon Gris, exhales aromas of pear, white flowers and white fruits. Round, supple and medium-bodied, it’s charming and enveloping with a delicate, juicy core of fruit that concludes into a fresh, long and mineral finish.
